Dear colleagues

a number of individuals have suggested panels/speakers t the next MEccsa conference, on policy issues, especialy considering the very eventful few months we've had in the media policy arena.

Could you let me know if anyone is still interested in putting together a panel, and what the topic and lineup might be?

Also a reminder of our proposed meeting at LSE on Sept 22nd, from 6-8. Thanks to those who've responded already.

thanks

Maire

 Practice

We are keen to support the presentation of practice related to papers in particular when there is insufficient time to present full work during paper presentation. To this end we have allocated a presentation space for practice artefacts which includes screenings, computer based work and multi screen work (where possible). For practice please include specific technical requirements (e.g. duration, format) and an URL pointing to practice support material.

The Art Design Media - Higher Education Academy Subject Centre (ADM-HEA) are offering a £500 prize and publication for the best paper analysing key issues impacting on media, communications and cultural studies in higher education. Submission details as for other papers but a full paper must be with

ADM-HEA by 25th November 2011 ([log in to unmask]).

Convergence: The International Journal of Research into New Media Technologies and SAGE Publishing are offering a prize for the best submission by a postgraduate or postdoctoral student on research which fits the aims of the journal. The winner will have their work published in the journal, receive a year's subscription and £150 worth of SAGE books. Submissions will be judged by the editors Julia Knight and Alexis Weedon and be submitted by 20th December 2011

Posters: The academic poster is highly valued by MeCCSA as an indicator of current research and there will be an open space set aside for poster display. A prize of £100 will be awarded to the best poster judged the MeCCSA Executive Committee.
