We are considering offering e-books in our libraries however we have been asked for figures to support this decision.

I would be grateful if those libraries that already provide e-books could answer a few questions regarding e-book provision.
1. Did you undertake any user surveys before offering the service?
2. Did you set a level of uptake below which it would not be cost effective to offer the service
3. How successful has the uptake of the service been?
4. Do you loan out e-book readers?

Finally have any libraries conducted a user survey on e-book provision and decided not to go ahead with the service?

Thank you
