Dear All
In an addition to the conference programme, Oliver Morley, Chief
Executive and Keeper, The National Archives will be speaking at 4pm on
Wednesday 31st August about the transfer of archive responsibilities
from MLA. The transfer creates for the first time a single clear focus
of responsibility for the archives sector in England. Oliver will
outline how The National Archives' relationship with the sector will
change, and some of the key programmes and activities which will be
delivered after transition takes place. The National Archives will
formally announce their proposed plans to the sector later this autumn
however the conference creates the opportunity for members to engage
with Oliver on current thinking. Nick Kingsley, Head of Archives Sector
Development and members of his team will be at the Information
Marketplace on Thursday 1st September to discuss The National Archives'
plans and answer questions.
There are still places available at conference to see Oliver speak and
to talk to Nick and his team. Book via

John
