Vacancy: Assistant Director (0.7 to 1.0 FTE), Campaign for Science and Engineering

£28,000 - £35,000 pro rata, based on experience

CaSE is the UK’s leading independent advocate for the science and engineering sector. We influence policy and media at the highest levels, focusing on ensuring that the UK has funding for world-leading research and education, skilled scientists and engineers, and innovative businesses.

As Assistant Director, you would play a leading role in our policy analysis and development, as well as engaging with high-level decision-makers and opinion-formers.

We need someone who is inspired by the idea of making a real, positive impact for science and engineering in the UK. You would be expected to deal with Nobel prize-winners, Government ministers, and national journalists on a regular basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills and make a name for themselves as a respected policy campaigner.

You will need at least a first degree in a STEM, economics, or related subject, experience of analysing policy developments and writing reports and briefings, and good project-management and interpersonal skills.

Person specification and application details are available at www.sciencecampaign.org.uk, or on request from [log in to unmask]

Closing date: 7th August 2011. Interviews: 16th August 2011.
