  Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] urine collections

Hi
This may seem a very bizarre question but I have been involved in a discussion this evening and I know my thoughts but wanted to seek the opinions of the masses.

I know about chain of custody for drug sampling and this is not about drug testing it is about simple screening.

When collecting urine for "screening" for diabetes/protein when doing FLT screening for example...what type of collection vessel do you use?

Do you always use a sterile urine pot? in your opinion does the pot need to be sterile? would another container suffice such as a jug/disposable cup etc?

I love my job!!!

Jacqui
