Hello Everyone,

We are currently reviewing the natural science collections at Leeds. It has been suggested that one way to cut down on the space that some of our larger taxidermy mounts use up is by retaining a sample of tissue for possible future DNA sampling and disposing of the rest of the mount. Does anyone know of any institution that uses this method of storage? Does anyone have any comments to make about this?

We are also looking for someone to retro-fit our existing racking with drawers for our bird skin collection. Can anyone recommend a company that might be able to do this for us please? Also: does anyone, by any chance (!), have anything going spare/second hand that might assist us with this?

Please reply to me off list: [log in to unmask]

Thanks in advance,

Clare
