Fixed-Term Lectureship in Italian Studies, School of Languages, Linguistics and Cultures, University of Manchester (0.6FTE)
The Italian Department of the University of Manchester is pleased to advertise a fixed-term Lectureship in Italian Studies, to start 1 September 2011.
Candidates with a specialism in any area of Italian Studies are encouraged to apply. The ability to teach course units and provide undergraduate supervision in the areas of Italian cultural and historical studies, and translation into English, will be an advantage.
The successful candidate will also be expected to take responsibility for administrative tasks within the discipline area and in the broader context of the School, under the supervision of the head of discipline and the head of School. You must be able to
collaborate closely with colleagues in the delivery of teaching and learning and be willing to take a share of responsibilities for student progress and academic management. You will also be eager to make a full commitment to our ideals of collegiality and
academic integrity at all levels of activity.
The School of Languages, Linguistics and Cultures (LLC) at the University of Manchester contains one of the UK’s largest concentrations of high-quality research and teaching in languages and linguistics. In this School the discipline area of Italian Studies
has its place as a leading international centre of excellence in research and teaching in the areas of linguistics, history, cultural politics, translation studies, and the history of the book from the medieval period to the modern day.
