I can't see how it would matter; the only issues are whether the version of SPM8 is the same, and whether that version of SPM will run on both versions of matlab. There's one technical issue: if the endianness of the two computers are different, I think there could be some issues. Though it seems like most computers you'd be dealing with are little-endian anyway these days.
