Applications are invited for a Research Associate post based in the 
Sobell Department for Motor Neuroscience and Movement Disorders, UCL 
Institute of Neurology. The post is funded by a European Research 
Council (ERC) Starter Grant entitled "Human Decision and Action 
Selection", awarded to Dr Sven Bestmann.

The postholder will join a research group investigating how prior 
information and predictions from events bias activity in the human motor 
system to transform decisions into actions, using a variety of 
behavioural, electrophysiological, and neuroimaging techniques.    The 
appointee will contribute to the ongoing programe of research in human 
decision and action selection, and will participate in several research 
projects concerning the link between decision making and action selection.

Applicants must have a PhD degree in Neuroscience or related area and 
expertise in functional neuroimaging data analysis, including the use of 
methods to examine brain connectivity, or expertise in computational 
modeling of human behaviour.

Expertise in working with, and programming in Matlab is essential, as is 
an interest in motor neuroscience and/or neuroimaging data analysis.

Experience in computational modelling of human behaviour and an 
excellent academic record with evidence of independent, creative work is 
desirable.

The post is available immediately and is funded for three years in the 
first instance. Starting salary on UCL Grade 7 in the range £31,905 - 
£38,594pa including London Allowance, superannuable.
