Dear Urs,

You can do even better than that by using robust averaging. That's
ideal exactly for artefacts like yours and would suppress them but
still use the rest of the data even for the same channel and trial.
Excluding whole trials is a standard approach in EEG analysis whereas
excluding channel/trials will complicate things unnecessarily.
