Hi Sarah --

This looks like a great resource -- thanks. It's always hard to be
complete, but it seems there are a number of repositories missing,
including:

Knowledge Network for Biocomplexity (KNB): http://knb.ecoinformatics.org
Oak Ridge National Laboratory DAAC: http://daac.ornl.gov
CIESIN: http://www.ciesin.columbia.edu/

And also domain specific repositories such as:
VegBank: http://vegbank.org
TreeBase: http://treebase.org
Paleobiology Database (PaleoDB): http://paleodb.org

and many others. There was a useful survey of scientific data repositories
and their characteristics published last year by Marcial and Hemminger
("Scientiļ¬c Data Repositories on the Web: An Initial Survey") -- it lists
many repositories that are not in your list, and you might find it useful
for the other repository metadata that they collected:

Matt
