During
the last two years, the Hub Information and Records Management Project has
successfully delivered free consultancies to 15 non-national museums in
We
can help your museum to:
·
identify and retain vital information in case of
organisational change
·
organise your records
·
comply with information legislation (Freedom of
Information Act, Data Protection Act, etc.)
·
sort out your shared drive
·
identify records that can be thrown out
·
raise awareness among your staff and volunteers for
record keeping
This
year we are particularly interested in
helping museums undergoing organisational transitions (eg. changing
to or from Trust status), which need help to identify
their requirements and rights relating to information and records
management. If you would like an informal chat about a consultancy, please get
in touch with Samira Teuteberg [log in to unmask].
Previous
recipients of consultancies have said:
“This [records management] had been on my list
of objectives but I didn’t even know how to begin. The consultancy has
given us focus along with the specialist knowledge and advice.”
“[The consultancy has] greatly
increased confidence in managing records and progressing action plans”
“The
work we did with the consultancy on digital image management has fed into our knowledge
and confidence around producing, selecting and disposing of images
appropriately, to serve the museum’s needs.”
