Dear All,

To mark the third phase of HECToR, the UK's largest, fastest and most powerful supercomputer, the Research Councils are running a competition to design artwork for the front panels of the computer.

Students between the ages of 11 and 16 should produce a design that will span the 15 front panels of the computer; it should reflect the different science undertaken on HECToR and how it benefits society. The winning design will be turned, by professional designers, into a room sized picture which will be unveiled at the launch ceremony in 2012.

The flyer at http://www.nerc.ac.uk/about/work/engagement/schools.asp#hector gives more details.

Entry forms, T&Cs and design specifications are available from [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> . The closing date is Friday 8th July.

Kind regards
Poppy
