I recently asked for information regarding trainers for Dragon Dictate software.
A number of subscribers sent me information. Unfortunately, the people they recommended train on Dragon naturally speaking but not Dragon dictate. I contacted abilitynet and they sent me the attached list. I thought it might be useful for other people as it includes trainers based around the UK and not just the Dragon Dictate for Mac package that I require. I have found a trainer on this list whose training package is very reasonably priced.
I am currently using DragonDictate to type up my marking and feedback. Those who use voice-activated software will be familiar with the facts that it is not infallible. It’s a good thing that I proofread some of the sheets as they misinterpreted one comment “you have tried hard”” into something extremely rude.
I hope the attached list of IT trainers is helpful to other subscribers..
Ability net are a very useful resource do with assistive technology. It is worth looking at their website
