Hi everyone
I have been doing a fair bit of vision
screening recently and I’m beginning to question what the value is of vision
screen machines - e.g. Keystone, Optec, Titmus - compared with Snellen charts
and near vision booklets (+ Ishihara for colour blind test if necessary). Are
they worth the additional expense and bother of transporting? If there is
a concern from a DSE user perspective, would they not be better having a full
eye test by an optician, as per DSE Regs? Is there a time when using the
machines has a definite advantage over simple charts? Or are we just
using them to look more professional?
I’d really value your opinions.
Thanks in advance
Jane Lilley

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] Vision
screeners - buying and selling
Hi
all
I
have two Optec 5500 Vision screeners that I am looking to sell (excellent
condition and hardly used) . They are fantastic machines to have mostly in one
place but not great for portable use. Not too heavy but big. Hence
I am looking for something smaller and interested in any keystones out there.
If anyone is interested in buying the Optecs and/or selling keystones or
similar then please contact me off list on [log in to unmask]
or mobile number below.
Thanks
Lindsey
