Hi Sarah,

If you're patient has access to an EAP service with a 'best doctors' service attached to it( second opinion from the world's best doctors) they can obtain a second opinion from a reputable expert. Best doctors, is a free medical service whereby a medical expert reviews the case ( via paper)and prepares a detailed report answering all the posed questions. This maybe a good place to start. I've not actually used this service but it's free.

Best wishes

Tara

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] Assistance with a sleep disorder

Hello Everyone,

I would like to pick your brains, we have recently seen an individual in our OH department that suffers with a neurological disorder called Kleine-Levin Syndrome or another term for it is Sleeping Beauty Syndrome.

I don't actually need any OH advice as the case is fairly easy to manage however this person's health is being managed by their GP and they haven't seen any kind of specialist. Does anyone know of a specialist who has a better than basic knowledge of this condition or has a special interest in this type of condition, the individual is getting a bit desperate and is willing to travel anywhere in the country to get some expert advice.

Many thanks

Sarah
