We recently challenged the workforce to beat the oh team on a walking comp as part of the European mobility week campaign.  We asked people to form teams of five and to give themselves a funky name for their teams. We had 10 competing teams in total. There were some hilarious names. We issued pedometers and charts. The rules were to clock up as many steps over 5 days. The team with the most won and we stuck £10 on  each of their rewArds cards. We put together an ad in the bulletin which outlined the oh teams' fitness levels and sports that we do regularly. This spurned a real competitive spirit especially with the security dept! Was a lot of fun but v admin heavy. Well worth it though and also put oh on the map a bit more on the wellbeing and fitness front.

All,

Our Health and Safety Group looking at a health promotion campaign for this autumn and would like to hear of some ideas that have worked well for you in the past.

We will likely do something along the lines of the 10,000 steps challenge with free pedometers which we are trying within our team as a trial. Any other ideas that might be better or would fit in would be great.

We have 2 sites both of which are fairly rural if that helps.

Thanks in advance,

Richard.
