GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT/PhD BURSARY IN DIGITAL MEDIA

The School of Creative Studies at Bangor University is developing a strong reputation for research and teaching in digital media (multimedia production, games and virtual worlds, digital writing and literature, digital multimodality, computer-mediated communication and rhetoric, web design, and cyberculture). It is seeking to appoint a Graduate Teaching Assistant in this field. The post will commence in September 2011 or as soon as possible thereafter, and will be tenable for one year in the first instance.
 
The post-holder will be expected to assist with practical digital media teaching, not normally exceeding 10 contact hours per week during semester, to include:

•	Assisting with groups of undergraduate students
•	Marking assignments
•	Assisting with the development of teaching resources.

The post-holder will be expected to register for a three-year PhD within the School in any area of digital media, including publishing, gaming, mobile computing or transmedia narratives, and will receive a full domestic three-year PhD fee remission.

MeCCSA is the subject association for the field of media, communication and cultural studies in UK Higher Education. Membership is open to all who teach and research these subjects in HE institutions, via either institutional or individual membership. The field includes film and TV production, journalism, radio, photography, creative writing, publishing, interactive media and the web; and it includes higher education for media practice as well as for media studies.
