CILEA Interuniversity Consortium of Italy Partners with the CLOCKSS Archive
(apologies for cross posting)

June 25, 2011

The CLOCKSS Archive is pleased to announce that it has entered into a
library partnership agreement with the CILEA Interuniversity
Consortium of Italy. The member libraries supporting the CLOCKSS
Archive include Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, University of
Milan, University of Bergamo, University of Verona, Instituto
Nazionale Geofisica e Vulcanologia (INGV), Libera Università
Internazionale degli Studi Social (LUISS), and Istituto Universitario
Europeo of Fiesole (IUE). The goal of the partnership is to have CILEA
leading the effort to secure participation in CLOCKSS by regional
libraries.

“CILEA, which always works for the issues of preservation of
electronic content, believes that CLOCKSS represents an important
initiative to support and spread within librarianship, as is
consistent with our institutional mission and the services that we
have long offered to our users directly. CILEA has therefore accepted
the invitation to support and spread the project throughout the
country of Italy,” states Eleonora Rodi, TITLE of CILEA.

CLOCKSS Executive Director Randy S. Kiefer adds, "CLOCKSS welcomes the
partnership with CILEA of Italy. I look forward to working with
Director Luigi Ballardini and his staff on increasing the library
participation in this important academic area of the world. Working
with global libraries to develop the support network is fundamental to
the sustainability of CLOCKSS's digital preservation efforts.”
