Virtualisation technology has its roots in the mainframe technology of the mid 1960s but recently has seen resurgence. Allowing multiple instances of an Operating System to share the same hardware with more granular control of machine configuration and networking has huge benefits. The ability to run multiple Operating Systems on the same hardware has cost benefits, addresses the problem of underutilised server hardware, can assist with business continuity as well as supporting the increasing green agenda. http://www.ja.net/services/training/courses/vmware.html Schedule and booking http://www.ja.net/services/training/schedule/by-date.html Further information on all courses and venues is available at www.ja.net/training Courses IN DEVELOPMENT http://www.ja.net/services/training/underdev.html Trialled Basic Networking for Service Desk and Support Staff http://www.ja.net/services/training/courses/supportingthenetwork.html Securing Campus Networks and Servers http://www.ja.net/services/training/courses/securingcampusnetworksandservers. html Under development Multicast Fundamentals Virtualisation Implementation and Cloud Computing Basic Wireless LAN Analysis Contact [log in to unmask] regards Maryse Booking Form Open <http://info.rsc-eastern.ac.uk/booking/booking_form.asp?eid=806> Technical Managers Forum, Hertford Regional College, 22nd June Maryse Fisher, e-Learning Advisor, JISC Regional Support Centre Eastern, Tel: 01245 684096.
