The University of Aberdeen is about to complete the construction of a new University Library, Special Collections Centre and Conservation Centre. It requires an experienced Exhibition & Programming Officer
to join a newly-formed learning and exhibitions team whose principal goal will be to increase access to the University’s rich collections of historic material and create new learning opportunities across the region. The postholder will play a key role in devising
and delivering an exciting exhibition programme and integrated learning and events programme, as well as working with colleagues to formulate an outreach strategy.

The University requires two experienced educators to develop and deliver a schools, learning and events programme in its new Library, Special Collections Centre and Conservation Centre. The new Conservation
Centre offers exciting opportunities to enable individuals, groups and schools to learn about the importance of conservation in preserving our national cultural heritage. A key audience is school-age children from Primary 5 to upper secondary level. Consequently,
a thorough understanding of the Curriculum for Excellence is essential. However, the postholders will also provide a diverse and challenging range of informal programmes for families, adult learners and special interest groups and so a proven ability to communicate
effectively across these audience groups is also essential.
