Collecting & Curating Popular Music Histories

Join us for an event bringing together museum staff, librarians, archivists, and academics with an interest in working with popular music histories and objects.

As well as showcasing findings from the University of Liverpool AHRC Beyond Text project on popular music in the museum, featured speakers will include:
• Kate Dorney, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Performance, V&A 
• Kate Arnold-Forster, Director of the Museum of English Rural Life 
• Sarah Bardwell, Director of Handel House Museum

Over a series of panels, we will discuss topics such as:
• The place of popular music within contemporary museum collecting & curating 
• The effect of new digital media approaches to museums & music 
• Musical heritage, place, & music education in the museum 
• Developing relationships with popular music collections beyond the museum
