As well as showcasing findings from the University of Liverpool AHRC Beyond Text project on popular music in the museum, featured speakers will include: • Kate Dorney, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Performance, V&A • Kate Arnold-Forster, Director of the Museum of English Rural Life • Sarah Bardwell, Director of Handel House Museum Over a series of panels, we will discuss topics such as: • The place of popular music within contemporary museum collecting & curating • The effect of new digital media approaches to museums & music • Musical heritage, place, & music education in the museum • Developing relationships with popular music collections beyond the museum Places at the symposium are free, but limited.
