Morning everyone.

I am supporting a stroke survivor with spelling difficulties, and he is learning really well to spell the words that he needs. Can anyone suggest some different ways of generating or finding a list of UK English words with a particular spelling pattern (for example ‘ought’)? I don’t want a phonics program of any sort, just a list generator. I have tried OneLook Online Dictionary which generated a rather bizarre list of American words, even though I requested ‘Common Words Only’.  Other lists that I found online were too childish or phonics-orientated. I have used a wildcard  (for example, inputting : <*ought>) before with a handheld-spellchecker, and may need to resort to this again. All suggestions, including both low-tech and hi-tech ones -  very welcome.

Best wishes to all,
