Dear All,

A full time post-doctoral position is available in the Brain Institute at Albert Einstein Institute for Research and Education (Ince – IIEPAE). The main goals is the development of preclinical models for neurodegenerative diseases. The facilities include a micro SPECT integraded with a micro CT system, a radiopharmacy lab, a fully equiped stereotaxic surgical unit, a Neurolucida system for 3D histological quantification. We are certified to work with knock out disease models, and have support for cell culture, genomic, proteinomic and metabolic experiments.

Successful applicant should have a PhD in neuroscience, biomedical engineering or in related fields. The ideal candidate would have a background in experimental setup using animal models in neurology research projects.  Good communication skills are required to interact with a multidisciplinary team of experienced molecular imaging scientists, engineers and other students.

Portuguese speaking would be desirable but not required. Salary is provided by an UNIEMP grant (equivalent to a top salary for post-doc scholarships in the country). The position (12 months renewable) is open in June 2011.
