THE CHINESE UNIVERSITY OF HONG KONG

Centre for Learning Enhancement And Research (CLEAR) Director and Professor
(Ref. 1011/130(120)/2) (Closing date: May 16, 2011)

 

CLEAR (http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/clear/) is an academic unit supporting
teaching and learning at the University through a wide variety of
professional development activities and projects in the University's eight
Faculties. CLEAR also supports the University's quality-assurance process
for teaching and learning.

Applicants should have a PhD degree and a well-established record in
academic staff development. Evidence of leadership and scholarship is
required, supported by research and publications in higher education. A
track record in quality assurance in higher education will be a strong
advantage. Experience in leading large projects, especially in innovative
curriculum approaches, will also be very desirable. 

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to three years
commencing as soon as practicable, renewable subject to mutual agreement.

The selected candidate will also be offered a full professorship appointment
in a subject related to his/her own specialty area of scholarly interests,
to be held concomitantly with the Directorship of the Centre.

 

The University reserves the right to fill the post by invitation.

Salary will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and
experience. The University offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package,
including medical care, plus a contract-end gratuity for an appointment of
two years or longer and housing benefits for eligible appointees.  Further
