Giving Shape to the Darkness

Recently nominated for a Tony award for Best Lighting Design for War Horse on Broadway, Paule Constable is an international, award-winning lighting designerShe won the 2005, 2006 and 2009 Laurence Olivier Awards for Best Lighting Design and was also a nominee for four further productions and for a 2007 Tony Award on Broadway. Her work has spanned a wide range of productions, including operas with the Royal Opera House, English National Opera, Glyndebourne, Opera North, Scottish Opera and Welsh National Opera, and productions for the National Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company, Donmar, Royal Court and Complicite. She has also designed productions in the West End and with Theatre-Dance.

Christopher Baugh is Professor of Theatre at the University of Hull and Emeritus Professor of Performance & Technology at the University of Leeds. He is Vice-Chair of the Society for Theatre Research.
