Is it just me or is the H&S officer taking the idea of risk assessment to extremes in this case?

Please can anyone enlighten me...

A surgeon called me to ask about provision of prescription eye protection.  I've spoken to our H&S officer who said to ask the theatre manager whether a risk assessment has been undertaken and whether this has been taken into account.

Has anyone got any idea as to what surgeons who wear prescription glasses have to be provided with...?  What does everyone else do...?

S :-)
