there is likely to be some disagreement from legal people that his injury isnt work related as he slipped on water that hadnt been mopped up in the works loos, doubtless there will be some implication of negligence, and that this has affected him greatly in his working life - which may or may not be a factor in his stated severity/extent of his symptoms

Think that management need to grasp the nettle and decide what to do with him - depends how long they are happy to let this situation continue as it would appear that he is not contributing to the needs of the business.

> The gentleman works in an abatoir. I have assessed the work place with him. There were two roles which were cosidered light duty and he said he was able to perform without discomfort. The second role was opening a gate letting the pigs into the run. Both roles he was in agreement with and since states that there were no issues for him to do this role as he had worked in the abatoir for years. He injured his arm iitially by slipping on some water in the toliet area - not work related. He has advised me that the physio has stopped all work on his shoulder until he has been seen by the specialist - but a date for this is unknown. I was therfore hessitant with referring to another physio. We seen to be at a standstill.
