X 2 PhD studentships in broadcasting history
The Media School at Bournemouth University has an established reputation in the area of radio and television history and broadcasting archive research.
The Centre for Broadcasting History Research (Director, Prof Sean Street) has in recent years worked to acquire and digitise significant radio archives including the LBC/IRN and ILR Programme Sharing archives. We also hold the IBA/ITA archive and various smaller collections including the complete BBC Radio Four Analysis Archive.
We are currently seeking one or possibly two new doctoral students to continue this work starting in October 2011 to be funded jointly by the AHRC and Bournemouth University. We envisage proposals which look at any aspect of broadcasting history and which include the use of archives, either here or elsewhere.
At this stage I would welcome expressions of interest direct to me by email.
