Smarter content with the semantic web: Is your organisation ready? : UKeiG Annual Seminar

Venue: Royal Society of Chemistry, Burlington House, Piccadilly, W1J 0BA, London http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/place?cid=11936704615076083931&q=royal+society+of+chemistry+london&hl=en&gl=uk

Date: Wednesday, 15 June 2011 - 09:15 - 17:00

Course Outline:

The UKeiG Annual Seminar 2011 will explore the semantic web, its relationships to users and machines, and the differences it might make to our working lives and those of our customers. The semantic web promises to enable smarter searching, processing, integrating and presenting of content. But will it, and how? More importantly, what should you be doing about it within your organisation? The seminar will consider the issues, the possibilities and the barriers emerging from the semantic web.

By providing a mix of presentations and case studies, delegates will be able to understand the relevance of the semantic web for their organisation, the technologies and applications they could be exploring to enhance content, and other practical steps that should be taken to ensure their resources and entities are connected.

The day will also include the Annual General Meeting of UKeiG. Members of UKeiG may attend the AGM, which usually lasts about 30 minutes, free of charge, but if they wish to stay for the Annual Seminar they must book a place in advance.
