Hi Martin, Many thanks for letting this list know. These digital datasets (available at http://services.english-heritage.org.uk/NMRDataDownload/) are crucial to most HERs to be able to provide information and advice on listed buildings, scheduled monuments, etc. Can I ask two questions to you and/or the designations team: 1. Can this data have a 'URL' field added to it, in the form http://list.english-heritage.org.uk/resultsingle.aspx?uid=xxxx (where xxxx is the List Entry number)? This rather minor change would allow users to go directly to the relevant webpage on the National Heritage List for England from the GIS data. [Adding the URL can be manually done by each HER each time they download the data, but is rather time-consuming for every HER to do every single time they download the data.] 2. Is there any chance that this data can be made available as a Web Map Service (WMS) or a Web Feature Service (WFS)? This would allow HERs to access this data on their GIS without having to download (and amend) the data at regular intervals. It would also ensure that HERs are using the most up-to-date National Heritage List for England data at all times. I look forward to hearing from you. best regards, Graham -- Graham Tait Archaeologist Historic Environment Service Devon County Council Matford Offices County Hall Topsham Road Exeter EX2 4QW Telephone: 01392 382214 Email: [log in to unmask] Web: http://www.devon.gov.uk/historicenvironment Disclaimer: http://www.devon.gov.uk/email -----Original Message----- From: Issues related to Historic Environment Records [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of NEWMAN, Martin Sent: 18 May 2011 12:37 To: [log in to unmask] Subject: [HERFORUM] Data Download update I've been asked to confirm that the data download is now being updated by the NHLE.
