> Department of International Development - 20th Anniversary Conference > & Alumni Reunion > 7th to 10th September 2011 > "Responding to the Crisis in International Development" > The Department of International Development (formally DESTIN) at the > LSE is delighted to announce its 20th Anniversary Conference and > Alumni Reunion in September 2011 to address the challenges generated > by the political, economic and environmental crises that threaten the > viability of the 'Post-Washington' agenda that has dominated recent > development policy and practice. > It will also host the inaugural Conference organised by its > newly-founded DFID funded Justice and Security Research Programme > (JSRP) dealing with Justice, Security and Governance in Fragile > States, and present some of the pioneering work carried out during the > second phase of the DFID funded Crisis States Research Programme. > Our conference will bring together our own staff, leading > international theorists, and practitioners from our Alumni Community > to analyse these problems, review current practices, and evaluate the > new solutions being devised to deal with them.
