Corporate Information & Knowledge Manager  £48,501 - £51,381
 
London Borough of Hackney has a Council-wide Information Management infrastructure which is leading the way in local government. The Council has introduced a new paradigm of information management applying to all Council information, records and datasets, including life cycle management. The Council is using this infrastructure to deliver efficiencies within the Council and also more effective online services via the web.
The Corporate Information and Knowledge Manager must lead and develop this infrastructure promoting it within the Council and externally.
The main requirements of the role are:
Information Management Officer x 2 £30,345 - £35,055
 
We’re looking for information management professionals with the ability to work with a wide range of Council officers and deal with high profile and confidential issues with discretion and tact. The credibility and confidence to pass on your expertise to others will also be essential. A business-related degree or equivalent together with experience of working in one or more of the areas of the Job Description.
These posts are available in the following areas: Records Management; Web Technologies.

Your role will focus on one area of the team’s remit, though you will have the chance to broaden your horizons as you develop and progress.
Records Management
This role will focus on the provision of Corporate Records Management Services. You will provide advice and support to all Directorates in the management of their information assets, including the storage, maintenance, security, access, sharing, preservation, and disposal of information, records, and data. This role will also co-ordinate and fulfil requests made under the Data Protection Act and experience of managing Social Care records is desirable.

Web Technologies
This role will focus on managing & disseminating Council information & knowledge using web technologies; ensuring compliance with government and legislative requirements and the Council’s Information management architecture. A new area of focus, this individual will assist in the development & implementation of the Council's knowledge management strategy and the redevelopment of the intranet site making best use of Web 2.0 technologies.
