Lambeth Palace Library and its
London collections
Lambeth Palace Library, one of England’s oldest public libraries, was founded in 1610. Its rich and varied history is
told through its holdings of medieval manuscripts, substantial archives and printed books, which together
range from 9th to 21st century.
The June seminar will showcase the Library’s important sources relating to London, such as the Bishops
of London papers and the early collections of Sion College, as well as anopportunity to find out more
about the ‘Building on History’ project promoting the study of church history in London.
