Thanks for the
info. The London Transport Museum don't recognise it as being specifically
transport related, so it could well be that it's just an unusual old tin that
happens to have a collection of Tramways tokens in it. No one on the list has
been able to suggest otherwise, yet...!

This is
probably not very helpful, being purely anecdotal, but I had a similar tin
as a child in which I kept pennies, it was a bit battered then, so was clearly
older than me. I do not know where the tin came from though. I am 47!

Hi
I've turned up this tin box in store, and am hoping someone has seen an
example before and can tell me something about it.
It has three compartments (two accessed by lifting flaps at either end,
and one accessed by sliding a cover at centre).
There are South Shields Corporation Tramways / Transport tokens in the
central compartment.
I'm assuming it would be a box used by a conductor / ticket collector on
the trams, but if anyone can confirm or give me more info / background
etc that would be most helpful! I saw one on eBay recently, but the
listing didn't give me any extra information.
Mine is 187 mm long x 96 mm deep x 32 mm high.
