POST-DOCTORAL POSITION AVAILABLE : Inserm U923 Unit, Caen, France

A postdoctoral position is available to work on neuropsychology and neuroimaging of alcoholism. The candidate will be involved in both analyses of already acquired behavioral and structural MRI data, and acquisition of new behavioral, structural (MRI, DTI) and functional (fMRI, FDG-PET) data.

The candidate will be welcomed in the Inserm Unit U923 directed by Francis Eustache and Béatrice Desgranges, and located at the Cyceron PET/MRI Center in Caen, France. The successful applicant will join a large multidisciplinary team (including scientists, engineer, technicians, doctors, psychologists, and PhD students) focusing much of its research on the cerebral bases of human memory and its disorders using complementary neuropsychological and neuroimaging techniques including MRI (3T) and FDG-PET. This position offers the opportunity to work in a high quality research environment, with strong clinical and scientific collaboration.

Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant area of neurosciences and demonstrate skills and experience in processing of structural MRI. Additional knowledge in neuropsychology and programming (MATLAB, C++) are preferred. Essential to this post are good communication skills and an interest in multidisciplinary teamwork. Part of the research project being conducted in collaboration with an American University, native English speaking candidates are highly encouraged to apply.

Salary:  around 1900 euros / month, net

Duration:  one year starting in September 2011 (potentially renewable)
