The Capability Maturity Guide sets out five levels of attainment or maturity which institutions may achieve in managing their research data. Organisations can use it to assess their current level of attainment and to identify areas where they may wish to concentrate in the future. In this way the model can serve as a form of gap analysis and should be of assistance to those of ANDS Partners who are engaged in improving their institution’s capacity to support research data management. This guide is intended for practitioners within research organisations who have responsibility for some aspects of research data infrastructure provision.
