Free Museum Records Management Consultancies available * Can't always locate important records? * Worried about your compliance with information legislation (Freedom of Information, Data Protection, etc.)? * Unsure which documents can be thrown out - but can't keep everything? * Shared drive is a bit of a mess - but don't know how to organise it? * Need to rationalise your filing space (electronically or physically) - but don't know where to start? * Will your organisational restructure include intellectual property rights transfers and good information governance? If any of these issues sound familiar to you, your museum will benefit from improving its records management. In order to help the process, the Renaissance Information and Records Management Project, based at the Museum of London, is pleased to offer another round of eight free consultancies in 2011/12 to help museums improve their record keeping. This year we are particularly interested in helping museums undergoing organisational transitions, (e.g. changing to or from Trust status) which need help to identify their requirements and rights relating to information and records management. For further information on the format and eligibility criteria of the free consultancies, please see the attached application form. If you are interested in receiving a free consultancy for your museum, please return the attached form by 24 May 5pm to Samira Teuteberg [log in to unmask] The project was established for the London region in 2007, and has raised capacity in over 149 museums to date through delivery of training workshops, guidance materials and free consultancies.
