Introduction to Government Surveys for Housing and the Local Environment
Tuesday 24 May 2011
University of Manchester
This one-day workshop introduces the UK large-scale government survey data that are available for re-analysis and teaching. The focus of the workshop will be on data related to housing and/or the local environment but many of the issues covered are applicable to other areas. The day is aimed at those with little or no experience of the data.
Participants will then learn about the data available, considerations when using the data, the research potential of the data, how to register for and access data and where to go for help. There will also be a hands-on computing session to explore the English Housing Survey data in Nesstar and start analysis in SPSS. The workshop is free to attend and lunch and refreshments will be provided.
