Hi Becky

I hope that means we'll see you on Tuesday! The lecture is part of a series taking place on the first Tuesday of every month through July, with some rather exciting plans in the works for August and September. There's a flyer available here: http://nottingham.ac.uk/sop/documents/nottslectures2011.pdf. As a group our webpage is fairly rough at the moment, but there are some details of what else is going on at www.nottscience.co.uk<http://www.nottscience.co.uk>. We're hoping to do a web overhaul this summer, so hopefully we'll have something a bit more slick in the future!

Best wishes
Sarah

This sounds great - I'm so used to seeing adverts for events miles and miles away from me that I was pleasantly shocked to see something not only in Nottingham, but 3 minutes' walk from my house! Is this going to be part of a series, or a one-off?

Becky

Hi All

Sorry for the late notice, but I wanted to let you know about the next lecture in the British Science Asssociation Notts Branch series, taking place on Tuesday:

"Communication between predator and prey on a micro-scale"
How do bacteria invade and kill other bacteria, and how can we use this to our advantage? Professor Liz Sockett, bacterial geneticist at the University of Nottingham, will discuss her research into predatory bacteria and how they could be useful in health and environmental protection.

Tuesday, 3 May, at 6pm

Room X1 Chemistry
University Park
Nottingham
NG7 2RD

The talk is free and there is no need to pre-book. It should last around 45 minutes, with plenty of time for questions and discussion afterwards. Directions and campus maps are available here: http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/about/datesandcampusinformation/mapsanddirections/universityparkcampus.aspx.

We hope you'll be able to join us!

Thanks
Sarah
