We too have had issues with customers wishing to download large files on the public computers. The issue with web scanning software may answer the question that we have been trying to get an answer to, from our IT department, when some downloads are unsuccessful. We don't state any specific limits in our current AUP, however, I think this may be what we will have to consider in the future, with the pressure on the PCs and our network. We do provide a 1GB temporary download area that is cleared down on PC reboot, but also allow users to download to a USB drive. However, we also use some web scanning software that checks all incoming files and web pages for viruses, etc., and this has a major impact on download speed. The file in question was one of 3.8GB - would this be acceptable and possible on your public network?
