Call for papers: Non-Western actors and the international humanitarian
community – towards a truly ‘universal’ system?

World Conference of Humanitarian Studies, Boston, 2-5 June 2011

From 2 to 5 June 2011, the International Humanitarian Studies Association (IHSA) organizes the Second World Conference of Humanitarian Studies, hosted by the Tufts University, Medford, USA.

The Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) invites submissions for a panel on non-Western traditions of humanitarian aid.The panel will present results from the Global Public Policy Institute’s research on non-Western donors of humanitarian assistance and invites contributions on questions relating to the analysis of non-Western traditions of humanitarianism, implications for the governance of the current international humanitarian system and potential linkages between different traditions of humanitarianism.
