My Cleint is seeking a talented SQL DBA with a couple years of experience to compliment their development team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a SQL DBA to further their career and play a key role in the development and provision of spatial solutions to the corporate database as well as key clients.
The appointed candidate will posses overall responsibility for providing support and administrating a PostgreSQL PostGIS database, taking ownership of all database related issues.
Key areas of responsibility (estimated % of time)
- Manage the day to day issues with running a database (10%)
- Writing SQL functions and scripts (25%)
- Data cleansing and uploading data to database (50%)
- Providing guidance and support to other departments / members (5%)
- Designing and implementing new database structures for clients and liaising for any issues (5%)
- Researching new database technologies / functionalities that can be implemented. (5%)
Consulting with the Development, Support and Consultancy teams the selected candidate will possess the following;
- excellent knowledge of writing SQL functions and scripts
- excellent working knowledge and experience of databases (ideally PostgreSQL /PostGIS but not essential)
- excellent organisation skills
- excellent communication skills
