Hi Mike, There are many interesting books on television in the past decade, but a few that I can think of since they resonate in my mind for their astute take on a specific topic are: Beyond the Box: Television and the Internet by Sharon Marie Ross (Malden, MA : Blackwell Pub., 2008.) Television After TV Television After TV: Essays on a Medium in Transition by Lynn Spiegel and Jan Olsson (eds.) (Durham : Duke University Press, 2004.) Television Style by Jeremy G. Butler (Routledge, 2010) This list is obviously not exhaustive, nonetheless I hope they're helpful. I'm sure the others will recommend more.
