Actually, what are the technical and actually enforced laws and punishments concerning the distribution of journal papers? I imagine that copyright forbids it, but are there actually people employed by publishers to track down and destroy non-compliance, such as PDFs saved on open course websites. I hear some of the larger entertainment companies have full-time staff members scouring youtube for uploaded tv and film to report and get taken down, is there an academic equivalent? Pete
