Bill Drummond (Thursday 12 May 2011)
Bill Drummond is a musician, music industry figure, writer and artist. He is known as co-founder of The KLF, the pop group of the late 80s and the K Foundation. He has written several books including '17' and 'The Manual (How to have a number one the easy way)'. Bill has produced a variety of different conceptual art projects and is the founder of choir ‘The17’ - www.the17.org
Leigh Landy (Friday 13 May 2011)
Professor Leigh Landy holds a Research Chair at De Montfort University where he directs the Music, Technology and Innovation Research Centre. His scholarship is divided between creative and musicological work. His compositions include several for video, dance and theatre. He is editor of "Organised Sound: an international journal of music technology" (CUP) and author of five books including "What's the Matter with Today's Experimental Music?" and "Experimental Music Notebooks". The Forum for Innovation in Music Production and Composition takes place at Leeds College of Music from Thursday 12th to Friday 13th May 2011. FIMPaC is an annual event focusing on research and practice related to innovations in Music Production and Composition. This year’s event sees its second year in association with the Journal of Music, Technology and Education. FIMPaC’s goal is to bring together composers, producers, music industry representatives, academics, educators and students to discuss their practice, research and industry experiences; FIMPaC encourages participants and delegates that represent the commercial music industry and academia.
