Dear All

Apologies for cross posting, please see the details posted below:

The Centre for Indian Classical Dance (CICD) is a charity organisation with
its main aim to promote South Asian dance and music at local, regional and
national levels through workshops, regular weekly classes, performances,
lecture demonstrations, festivals, conferences, touring programmes and a
resource centre.

The CICD have been awarded project funding from the HLF and are looking to
appoint a freelance project coordinator to develop an oral history archive
with volunteers about the influence of the South Asian community and Ugandan
Asian immigration in particular on the culture of Leicester and the UK. The
project will also record stories of how art forms including Indian classical
dance have changed since migration to the UK and will produce a touring
exhibition, book and website materials to help people learn about this
heritage.

The freelancer will need to have experience of managing community projects,
coordinating volunteers and collecting and using oral histories.

Please find the full brief, including closing dates, timescales and details
of the fee available for this work, attached.

Any questions should be forwarded direct to Nilima Devi, please also
circulate to colleagues you think might be interested.

Best wishes,

Nilima
