We do it on neonates all of the time and occasionally on in-patient adults.

I can put you in touch with our POCT coordinator who usually trains the nurses for adult capillary phlebotomy or she does it herself. However, unless the nurse was very motivated I would not allow her to do it as you will end up with clumps if platelets giving erroneously low platelet results.
