The article I mentioned is Elizabeth Wickett 'Archaeological Memory the
Leitmotifs of Ancient Egyptian Festival Tradition
and Cultural Legacy in the Festival Tradition of Luxor: the _mulid_ of
Sidi Abu'l Hajjaj al-Uqsori
and the Ancient Egyptian "Feast of Opet" 'pp 403-426 JARCE 45

But there is a growing body of material - as you know I've been working
with Zar drum rhythms in some of
the recon egyptian rites with The Companions of Seth - and started to
explore some of this in my little book on "Supernatural Assault" -
but more research appearing all over. I'd once thought there wasn't
going to be too much common ground between Arab/Islamic material and
Egyptian / Pharaonic/ folk culture but turns out to be quite a lot ...
although under threat and disappearing as we speak ...
from fanatics but also just modernism / tourist development etc ...

There's the other angle of ancient Haran and the preservation of
Hermeticism in Sufi / Islamic sects.

Any info you find please do share : )
