I can give a cast-iron identification. This is a pair of 'spectacles' (blinkers really) designed for hens in 1951 to stop them pecking each other. They were featured in a British Pathe film that year in use on a farm in Spalding, Lincolnshire. The film is regularly played on our gallery and this museum would absolutely love to acquire an example. Are they on offer? You can view the film online at http://www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=47123
